When to start a new birth control pack ?

I switched from nuvaring to yasmin… Nuvaring you put in 5 days into period and take out on that first day for example mine was take out 9th put in the 14th… My doctor told me to start the new pack of yasmin on the last day when i would be putting my nuvaring in. I have one pill left for this pack and got my period the last row of the pills its a 28 pack. do i go straight into another pack or wait 5 days as if I was on nuvaring
