Statistics- Qualitative vs Quantitative?

Hi! I know that age is considered a quantitative variable because it is numerical and can be ranked. However, would you consider an age range (such as aged 13-19) to be qualitative or quantitative? why or why not? I think that it should be quantitative because it can still be ranked and is numerical, however, my current teacher says that age ranges are considered qualitative instead. I have not been able to find anything that states anything except age being clified as a quantitative variable. Thank you to those that can shed some light on this matter!
