To early for suede boots?

I bought a pair of brown suede boots about a couple weeks ago. My mom told me I shouldn't wear them. Ive been holding off, but now that its September and its kinda chilly out now is it still a no go? They dont have fur on them or anything, I save those for winter time. Im going to a party at my University tonight and I don't want people saying "what is she thinking". Haha
