Help, Need help identifying this equipment!?

Part of a standard quack kit for 'curing' people with electrical discharge from neon-filled tubes. Really pretty glows and the occasional spark, but no real value. In theory they were high-frequency electrotherapy, but my Dad (who did use a lot of diathermy) had no faith in them.
