Would spray adhesive work on a ping pong paddle for more grip (not on handle, but paddle)?

Not for grip on the handle, but for grip on the paddle itself.. I want more spin on the ball, so my solution would be a tiny bit of spray adhesive.. Would this make my paddle too sticky or would it help?
