I was rear ended with my whole family in the car. What should I settle for ?

My wife, 18 month old daughter and dog were all in my 4runner at a red light, when a F-350 rear ended us at 25 mph. Enough to shatter our back gl all over our dog, and give us severe whiplash. We went and had X rays done, and were prescribed meds for pain and muscle relaxation. We both had pre existing chiropractic care. the damage totaled the back of our 4runner, with the damage estimated at $4,000 Dollars. We also went in 2 weeks later to our Chiropractor for more X-rays and continued care, which He believes will need to be continued for the next two years. The insurance company called and mentioned a settlement. We did not even allow them to say a number figure. What would you reasonably expect for a settlement. We live in Ca.
