What does it mean if a guy was speaking about you to someone else..?

For example, at my cl in uni I am a very shy girl (Im actually mild aspergers/a.d.d) and there was this guy who I spoke to at the start of the year and a couple of times thereafter. Anyway, he started hanging around pretty regular with this girl who is mean and condescending to me (she has a boyfriend so it is nothing like that) so I avoided their little clique because she was always hostile to me whenever I spoke with her (grimacing in conversation in between smiling). Anyway, at the end of term he gave a presentation and I was interested in one of the figures whom he mentioned in it but couldn't find the person on the web so I emailed him asking him 'who' said person was. He emailed back. Later that week there was an end of cl party I didn't attend but my lecturer did. It is a pretty casual set up in my uni. Anyway, this guy must have mentioned my interest in this figure or spoke with my lecturer (young man himself) about me as my lecturer started mentioning this particular 'influential figure' that had nothing to do with his cl that day in his lecture directed at me (this is first cl of term). He always does these kind of things for me so I will stay tuned in. He knows about my a.d.d. Anyway, why would this guy who I have barely spoken to ask about me to this lecturer? I was omitted from presentations last semester because I was just diagnosed with mild aspergers and am pretty alone in the cl actually.But, I feel embarred for emailing him now as I barely know him but i was just interested in the figure he mentioned. I am curious and paranoid as to what was actually said.
